Women’s Hygiene Products Drive
We are pleased to offer a safety net for women in need by collecting donations of essential hygiene products. We kindly request that you drop off your contributions at our conveniently located 157 Main Street address. Your generosity will make a significant impact and ensure that these women have access to the basic necessities they require to maintain their health and well-being. Mainebiz Business Leaders of the Year Reception
Mainebiz magazine will recognize area business leaders at a special event April 5, and Her Safety Net founder and executive director, Amina Hassan, was selected to receive the honor “New Mainer of the Year” — an immigrant who has made an impact in Maine as the leader of a nonprofit or community organization that has helped the lives of other new Mainers.
Home to Home DV Training
Her Safety Net and Safe Voices partnered to do this training for Home to Home staff, HSN will be will be presenting the cultural competency part of the training.
FOOD DRIVE!
Her Safety Net and the YWCA are partnering on a vital food distribution project to benefit low income families in the Lewiston-Auburn area. The event takes place March 3 from 3pm to 5:45pm at the YWCA officers, 130 East Ave. in Lewiston. Contact us for more information.
February Is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
Calling all teens. Her Safety Net is joining with Safe Voices and the Lewiston Public Library to hold an informative event about teen dating violence. Learn the signs and find out how to prevent it.
We invite you to join us Feb. 15, from 1pm to 3pm, at the Lewiston Public Library. There will be an informative discussion, one-on-one counseling and additional resources.

At this month’s support group meeting, we held an all-girls painting night. Painting — and good conversation — are therapeutic and fun!
Winter Clothing Giveaway
Starting in December, Her Safety Net has been holding a winter clothing giveaway. Stop by our offices, weekdays 9am-5pm, to pick up warm clothing for the entire family. There is plenty left to choose from!
